The company was founded by Michelle, an expert bridal gown designer and creative with a passion for weddings and bridal fashion.

Michelle got her start working at a well know bridal salon while planning events and baking cakes on the side. Her journey as an entrepreneur began after a brief poolside conversation with her spouse Quitin in 2013, when they launched McEllis Brides as a gown rental company.

A decade later, McEllis Brides Design Studio has evolved into a luxury brand offering a full suite of services, including custom-designed bridal gowns, bridal redesigns, alterations, bridesmaid dresses, special occasion wear, prom, and bridal fashion consulting.

Customers continue to give McEllis Brides Design Studio rave reviews. The studio has been featured in numerous magazines, including Coastal Virginia and Beyond Beauty to Williamsburg Bridal Guide. Michelle and her team have been recognized with Wedding Wire's “Couples’ Choice” award five years in a row and voted “Best Place to Buy a Wedding Gown” award.
